The Writer-Editor works with the Office of Enrollment Management (OEM) teams and campus partners to develop the creative content for marketing campaigns and initiatives, communications plans, and ongoing content marketing strategy for OEM units; including the Offices of Admissions, First Year Experience Programs, Scholarships, Student Central, and Student Financial Assistance. This position will produce integrated content for emails, websites, print publications, online profiles, and other marketing and communications materials. The individual in this position must ensure that all content is well written and accurate, is consistent with the voice and style of each unit, and adheres to IU branding guidelines. The Writer-Editor must work collaboratively with designers, producers, and developers, and with partners in OEM units to craft effective content in a timely fashion.
REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience in writing/editing with a department, organization, or agency involved in marketing/communications work.
Combinations of education and experience will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in higher education marketing.
Demonstrated professional writing experience. Proficient in proofreading and editing while also attentive to details. Ability to write for various formats/channels. Ability to work both independently under limited supervision and also as a member of a team. An independent thinker with good judgment and a creative mind. Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information.
Master’s degree. Ability to work well in a fast-paced and diverse environment that requires innovative thinking and the ability to implement ideas and projects quickly and competently. Project management skills. Knowledge of policies and practices of higher education.
