Collections and Recovery Risk team's mission is to assist customers who need to bring their accounts current or fairly resolve their debt. The Collections and Recovery Risk team owns strategy and policy and partners closely with the Operations and Technology teams on implementation and execution. Through this partnership, members of our strategy team have a great opportunity to put new strategies in place and see tangible impacts of their work to assist customers. This position is within the Branded Cards Collections and Recoveries Strategy team. The team is responsible for managing and monitoring existing strategies and tests, leading work to ensure our business is well-managed, and developing and launching new strategies to reduce losses and expenses while improving the client experience. This team manages strategies related to the Branded Cards portfolio including products from key partners such as American Airlines and Costco. The role provides a very exciting intersection of analytical and consumer behavior strategy. Key Responsibilities
This role is responsible for strategic optimization and oversight of Loss Mitigation programs. This includes Forbearance, Settlement & Reage programs which accounts for $1Bn in inventory and $500MM in new enrollments. They are also Responsible for the Recurring Payments strategy for delinquent accounts. Ability to think independently and provide clear directions to analysts for ad-hoc and project related work. Leading development, design, analysis, project planning, and final implementation of new risk strategies in areas of Loss Mitigation and Recurring Payments at a tactical and strategic level. Supervise the monthly MIS and some ad-hoc analysis related to Recurring Payments and Loss Mitigation treatments. Provide insight into the data through deeper analytics as required. Analyze tests & performance using SAS, CHAID/CART, and other tools. Evaluate effectiveness of current policies & strategies.
Clearly communicate analysis as presentations to technical & non-technical groups will be required as part of the job. Summarize analytic findings into presentations and share analysis & reports with senior leadership. Interact & communicate effectively as well as build strong working relations on an on-going basis with Operations, Legal & Compliance, Marketing, PID owners, business partners etc.
BA / BS degree in Quantitative Fields such as Economics, Engineering, Operations Research, Business Finance, or Mathematics (Master's degree preferred)
5 - 7 years' experience in credit card risk management or equivalent training and experience preferably in the financial services industry
Ability to apply credit and risk principles toward business objectives
Demonstrated ability to synthesize, prioritize and drive results with a high sense of urgency
Must be highly organized and able to work in a fast paced environment managing multiple projects and possess strong interpersonal, organizational and analytic skills
Extensive knowledge of SAS or SQL programming and literacy with MS Office software required
Project Management skills highly desirable
