Departmental Overview Summer Sessions, Study Abroad & Lifelong Learning (SSALL) is a vibrant and dynamic organization that enables more than 15,000 visiting, UC and potential Cal students; parents, faculty, academic units, international business partners, and central campus service providers participate in providing more than 600 summer courses, study abroad experiences, global internships, and year-around program or courses, lectures, special events and interest circles for older adults.
SSALL is committed to offering quality, innovative learning experiences through open enrollment to a diverse audience of world-wide learners, while supporting the campus missions and commitments to its stakeholders.
Provides broad scope analysis (budget, financial, academic, data, systems, etc.) to identify affiliates to visit and key events to participate in; through analysis, identifies individual prospects, researches and summarizes best practices, coordinates attendance and participation in exhibitor events ( which may include materials preparation, registration, marketing, presentation, and networking with current and potential partners); researches organizational structures, policies and procedures, summarizes best practices in field, and provides consultative services regarding program management to department administrators and other key stakeholders. Coordinates and conducts student information sessions with affiliates, and coordinates the travel schedule (with Director).
Demonstrates good judgment in making decisions, overseeing payment and adherence to policy, and planning and managing projects and programs including the International Student Welcome Receptions, the Visiting Scholar Program, and other similar projects and programs requiring ongoing research and training regarding effective organization structures, policies and procedures, and best practices in the field.
Establishes and maintains contact and communication with internal and external constituents for the collection and exchange of data between the program and Campus Partners, Prospective Affiliates, current Affiliates, and Alumni. Communicates with prospective affiliates; negotiation/agreement review and approval; Recruiter Training; in collaboration with Marketing, manages resources specific to the maintenance of ongoing affiliate relations.
Meets with international visitors and visiting delegations/prospects.
Conducts post-implementation analysis, audit, and review to determine the need for further enhancements, finer distinctions and/or additional process/policy components necessary to further the growth of the program and strengthen the relationships with current and potential partners.
Other tasks as required.
Knowledge of common campus-specific and other computer application programs. Analytical/problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of UC travel policies, travel booking and reimbursement systems, or ability to learn.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff; both verbally and in writing.
Strong skills in analyzing and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals.
Ability to multi-task with demanding time frames.
Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
Bachelors degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
Salary & Benefits The annual salary range of the position is $55,100 - $84,000, commensurate with experience.
