To manage and organize the capital acquisition process. To design, manage, and implement an effective strategy to acquire capital assets while minimizing cost and providing best possible contract terms.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage a capital acquisition process that identifies the optimal strategies to acquire capital at the minimum expense and the most favorable terms and conditions.
Will facilitate capital acquisition teams and manage the process from inception to completion.
Identifies capital bundling opportunities through VFA and lead a process to assemble user teams, coordinate and manage the resulting acquisition process.
Works with Vizient staff to identify group buy opportunities with Vizient membership
Acts as the liaison between vendors, CCHS department, system leadership and physician leadership, as appropriate.
Develops capital asset specifications
Issues "Request for Proposals" (RFPs)
Analyzes RFP responses and prepares comprehensive comparative documentation for each acquisition
Conducts contract negotiations including all applicable legal terms and conditions
Develop spreadsheets, both technical and financial, for capital projects with purchase recommendations. Presents results to leadership, as appropriate.
Assigns, distributes and manages capital work and provides appropriate instruction and direction.
Ensures the timely processing of all work assigned to the Capital team
Meets regularly with Purchasing leadership to receive direction and/or supervision and to maintain consistent and open communication on workload, progress on projects, problem resolution, exchange of ideas, etc.
Serves as a role model by developing respect, confidence, and cooperation within the work environment
Maintains composure, good judgment and acceptable work performance under conditions caused by deadlines, workload, situational crisis, opposition or other causes
Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
Performs other related duties as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, or related field required.
Master's Degree preferred.
4-7 years of experience in finance, sourcing, project management or other related field, however, an equivalent combination of education and/or experience can be considered.
Healthcare industry experience preferred.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Five years experience in medical capital negotiations is preferred.
