Responsible for the planning, oversight, execution, and management of comprehensive design services for major and minor renovations, construction and maintenance projects, as well as the corporate design guidelines in regard to room type and size, fixtures, furniture, finishes, artwork, and signs. The design services project manager will assist in the development and maintenance of the Novant Health design guidelines while delivering the most remarkable patient experience, in every dimension, every time, and understanding how he or she contributes to the health system’s vision of achieving that commitment to patients and families.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or equivalent field required.
Experience: Minimum of six years healthcare or related design experience required.
Licensure/certification/registration: NCIDQ certification required. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096
Additional skills required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific competency assessment. Must have excellent and thorough Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). AutoDesk AutoCad experience required. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to work with changing priorities and able to prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines. Requires excellent organizational, problem solving, and critical thinking skills. Must be able to interact with individuals of all cultures and levels of authority and have the ability to effectively communicate with architects, contractors, vendors, hospital staff, physicians, and other customers. Must be detail oriented. Requires the ability to work independently using effective analytical skills. Requires the ability to maintain confidentiality. Must be able to function as part of a team. Must possess initiative. Ability to work with limited direction from department manager, off-site by telephone, fax, Web-ex, or e-mail. Ability to work in a fast pace professional environment. Good financial management skills and the ability to document project progress and develop work plans. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and have a personal vehicle available if necessary.
Additional skills preferred: Microsoft Project, Microsoft Publisher, and Adobe Photoshop experience preferred.
