We are seeking a Financial Analyst for the Department of Medicine .

Provide high level analytical support, prepares financial reports and models in support of the business operations of assigned areas. Manage various project initiatives that have been assigned by Sr. Financial Manager. Develop budget justifications for incremental or zero-based budget requests. Prepare monthly expense and variance reports; investigate and explain unusual variances; when applicable, recommends steps to resolve these variances and assists in implementing them. Data Analysis & reporting - Identify problems, trends, and issues requiring action or future review.
You need: Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred with 4-7 years of relevant experience. 8 years related experience in financial management and budget preparation in lieu of a Bachelors degree. Healthcare experience strongly preferred. Advanced knowledge spreadsheets and database applications, such as Excel and Access. Ability to use and create Advanced Excel Formulas and Pivot Tables is preferred. Cognos reporting experience preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to make presentations, lead teams, prepare reports etc. Advanced budget preparation and budget analysis skills needed to ensure comprehensive management of divisional budgets, expenditure and related activity. Must have excellent organizational and analytical skills, strong interpersonal skills to effectively participate in problem identification and resolution. Excellent project management skills.
