The NBCUniversal Owned TV Stations is looking for a socially-driven individual to join our team as a freelance social media manager. We are building a new news brand where the goal is to reinvent how stories are being told. We want you to help create and build a community around it.
The ideal candidate is passionate and knowledgeable about all things social media and has experience developing and publishing timely content across multiple platforms. You will partner with our content creation team, managers and other stakeholders to ensure engaging content goes live on a regular and timely basis across key social platforms.
Plan, create and execute the social media content strategy for YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and other platforms
Develop and implement engaging content that focuses on initiating conversations and building brand awareness
Analyze performance data to make improvements to strategy and content selection and creation
Manage social media channels and handles including implementing a regular publishing cadence for each platform
Seek out and build cross-promotional relationships with other brands, outlets and influencers
Minimum 2 years of experience overseeing a social media brand, channel or relevant account
Experience editing video and publishing to social media platforms
Proven track record of creating conversations on social media
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Communications or equivalent work experience
Understanding of journalistic ethics
Strong writing skills with an emphasis on authenticity and writing within a brand
Proven understanding of social media best practices
Past experience using social media analytics and data to make content decisions
Expert written and oral communication skills
Skilled with using Adobe Creative suite program – Premiere & Photoshop
