The UK Marketing Team is central to developing, planning and representing the channel communication strategy of the UK business, as well as providing the UK channels with distribution marketing support across its major customer segments.
The primary purpose of the team is to develop and deliver integrated marketing plans to support our UK business goals and strategy, ensuring we represent "One Fidelity" to our clients in the most compelling and appropriate manner - and our clients' needs back into Fidelity. This role is part of the UK Digital Marketing team, supporting the UK business channels.
The span of activity is broad as befits a leading marketing organisation and operates through-the-line, incorporating planning, broadcast marketing, customer engagement and digital marketing functions. Ongoing research and insight into our customers' needs, together with the evaluation of our marketing performance, is also integral to the team's structure.
Purpose of your role
The purpose of this role is to craft vibrant digital content that will stop people in their tracks, engage them, and lead them on a journey that will encourage and help them to invest with us. You will be creating investment-related content an engaging, human angle, so while experience of financial services will be helpful, experience of creating amazing content is more important.
Your words will leap off the page, whether you're teasing out the human-interest angle or illustrating a fundamental truth of our life journeys. You'll also be able to inject infographics and video with your concise and imaginative powers of articulation for complex concepts. Essentially, whatever the format, you'll be comfortable, and preferably have experience of working with designers to create infographics, in scriptwriting for videos and in creating assets for social posts.
Above all, you'll be an accomplished word-smith with sound editing experience, able to work at speed and to deadline. An eye for detail is essential, but so is the ability to work effectively in a fast-moving environment with multiple stakeholders. You'll be proud of your content but not precious and will be comfortable experimenting with new ideas and formats, measuring the outcomes, and applying those learnings to constantly adapt and improve.
This means you'll possess the gravitas and diplomacy necessary to accommodate the views of colleagues across other functions while challenging where necessary to ensure that the quality and purpose of your work is never compromised.
You will be responsible for building a new stream of content to inspire people to invest in their future by engaging with us via innovative, vibrant digital content
Develop a forward features list of awareness digital content spanning a range of investment ideas and based on the needs of a defined audience in relation to core content themes to create a stream of always-on content that will start people on their investment journey
Regularly present the latest features list to the editorial board and achieve sign-off on the ideas, ready for development
Write features and associated social posts to a high quality, based on the features list and taking into account brand messaging, tone of voice, SEO, and associated content journeys and taking input from other departments as necessary
Collaborate with colleagues in other disciplines to create content in different formats such as infographics, animations and short-form video
Edit content from colleagues as required
Ensure content has the appropriate tone of voice, SEO approach, and a clearly articulated purpose
Ensure content has either a clearly articulated or immediately obvious purpose, the correct tagging and appropriate calls to action
Consult with colleagues across departments to ensure the technical accuracy of all content.
Ensure content is produced to deadlines and signed off with all appropriate functions, including compliance
Ensure content is entered into the CMS with all correct/appropriate meta data and tagging
Write social posts - both original and responses
Work with the video team to produce long-form and short-form video
Assist in creating a content measurement framework.
Work closely with other departments to ensure that content meets legal, compliance, SEO, accessibility, Fidelity branding, and style guide requirements; take the initiative to engage and coordinate content testing, peer review, and proofreading.
Experience and Qualifications Required
Proven experience writing features, interviews and other editorial content for consumer audiences online
Experience editing written content for online, including a proven ability to write great headline and subheading
Ability to assimilate diverse information and distil it into key messages, prioritise and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent proof reading and editing skills.
Experience of optimising content for SEO - while keeping it human
Experience writing for video and working with video and/or animation teams to create compelling content
Experience creating assets for social media
Ability to efficiently consolidate and/or realign direction from multiple sources.
Proven relationship-building skills and senior stakeholder management experience in large complex organisations.
Experience of working with user experience and design teams.
Experience working with content management systems.
Experience of setting content KPIs and analysing performance.
Confident presentation and communication skills
Ability to work independently, quickly, and thoroughly to prioritize and complete tasks under multiple deadlines.
