About the Position: The Office of Admissions is responsible for determining student eligibility for admission to the University, processes and evaluates applications and transcripts, determining residency status, and reviewing appeals for exception to University Policy. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as an Associate Director, Admissions. The Associate Director of Admissions oversees the processing and evaluation of all undergraduate and graduate applications. Reporting to and in collaboration with the Director of Admissions, the Associate Director will successfully manage over 80,000 admission applications each year to ensure all applications are processed properly, adhering to all CSU and CSUF policies and procedures. Assists in the development of various Admissions communications, internally and externally. Provides reoccurring training of staff. Creates and maintains training manuals and BPGs. Clearly communicates with employees on all Admissions priorities and policy changes. Plans, organizes, and directs the flow of work to ensure that all applications are received, acknowledged and processed accurately. Ensures all admission decisions are completed in a timely manner. Utilizes and prepares Admissions queries and reports for the distribution of work, forecasting and data analysis. Assist with ERS and ERSA cleanup for the CSU Chancellor's Office reporting. Assist with PeopleSoft/CMS testing when new functionality is introduced from CMS or due to custom University modification. Contributes to the continued development and enhancement of the imaging technology and continuing engineering of the Admissions unit. Demonstrates an understanding of our campus culture and promotes the appropriate communication strategies in collaboration between Admissions and the University community. Supports efforts to shape our incoming undergraduate class and meet the University's enrollment targets. In coordination with the Director of Admissions and the Associate Vice President, the Associate Director contributes to internal goals in order to support the CSU Fullerton Strategic Plan, Strategic Enrollment Management Model, and Impaction Plan. Performs other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications: Bachelors degree from an accredited four year university. Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible experience in a higher education setting required. Strong leadership skills. Must have the ability to think strategically. Good project management and organizational skills. Ability to clearly write training documents and technical guides. Must be a strong communicator. Strong attention to details. Must be able to multi-task. Strong critical thinking skills are required Must have the ability to evaluate changes in the system and university requirements and incorporate these into existing processes. Must support the Director of Admissions. Understand the role of the Office of Admissions in the University community. Knowledge of working with Student Information Systems. High level of knowledge of computers, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
