The Video Editor will be responsible for bringing stories to life with a broad-based production background and desire to collaborate across the creative teams. Primary responsibilities include collaborating with the Strategic Marketing and Communications staff and other campus departments to craft compelling videos from concept to completion while integrating animation, in order to support compelling content for Chapman University. The position reports to the Visual Content Director of the Video and Photography team.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional work experience. At least three – five years editing using Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro; Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Flow, Font Manager, Grid Guide, AEInfoGraphics 2, Digit Fiddler, Mobo Motion Bundle, and Deep Glow. At least three – five years working with producers going over notes and cuts At least three – five years outputting projects on various platforms/in multiple format Experience with video production processes (pre-production, production, post production). Technical skills to learn and use enterprise systems and departmental tools. Ability to work efficiently and effectively under deadlines. Strong written and verbal communications skills. Ability to use tact and diplomacy and work with confidential information. Must be able to multitask and juggle multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to lead individuals and provide feedback to team members. Ability to do best-practice research and apply it to department processes. Strong interpersonal skills to work with diversity individuals at all levels both within and out of the University. Ability to learn and interpret university and department policies and procedures.
