The New School seeks a dedicated professional to serve as a Development Associate for the University Development and Alumni Relations Team. Reporting to the Senior Director of Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving Programs, the Associate will be responsible for providing administrative and project management support for the Senior Director as well as special projects for the AEAGP team. This multi-faceted position provides the opportunity to collaborate with many different teams in the Development office and across the university.
Serve as project manager for engagement and cultivation correspondence, contact reports, and other special initiatives to enhance the alumni database.
Review monthly press clippings and conduct research to track alumni achievements and record awards, announcements, and news in the database.
Manage the AEAGP team production calendar in collaboration with colleagues to ensure all communication, fundraising, and event project milestones are recorded.
Produce expense reports on behalf of the Senior Director and coordinate budget updates with colleagues to track AEAGP spending.
Prepare meeting agendas, presentations, and special reports in collaboration with the Senior Director for university leadership, volunteer boards, and internal meetings.
Provide prospect moves management support for the Senior Director by recording contact reports weekly into the database and coordinating future outreach to assigned prospects.
Assist Senior Director with scheduling meetings and arranging travel as needed.
Collaborate on planning and executing creative strategies for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding prospects in consultation with AEAGP colleagues.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 2 years working in alumni relations, development, or marketing, preferably at a university or cultural institution.
Proven experience managing complex projects.
Strong working knowledge of Google Suite, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Experience with HTML, digital design, email service providers.
Excellent written and interpersonal communication.
Exercises good judgment and discretion with sensitive and confidential information.
Knowledgeable working with databases, Banner preferred.
