The University Communications and Marketing (UCM) team has responsibility for marketing and brand management, communications, public relations, and editorial services--all in support of the priorities of Tufts University.
Partners with UCM colleagues to utilize the university's main social media properties to maximize audience engagement. Ensures that channels are tightly synchronized in support of the university's goals related to revenue generation and reputation building. Works with colleagues on the Content team as well as with colleagues on the Marketing and Media Relations teams to develop social media content marketing plans around key university initiatives, to support marketing and audience-engagement goals as well as objectives for reputation growth. Measures the effectiveness of various social channels and makes determination on the investment in new channels. Expands the reach of the university's main social media channels, through expanding the follower base and selectively engaging with influencers among Tufts' constituents. Devises strategies by segment for engaging with key audiences, including donors and prospective students. Maximizes creative marketing of content produced from within UCM and elsewhere at the university.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
At least 4 years of experience managing social media presences, as well as experience with digital content/assets and content marketing
Superior visual storytelling and verbal skills
Attention to detail, ability to work under tight deadlines, ability to problem-solve and an orientation toward teams and collaboration
Applies knowledge and ensures compliance with University and industry standards for security, privacy, and accessibility.
Experience in a not-for-profit or university setting
Experience ensuring compliance of web page content with W3C and Section 508 (ADA) accessibility standards preferred. Ongoing training will be provided to help keep up with current trends and requirements.
