Reporting to the Director of Admissions, The Senior Associate Director of Admissions will supervise a portion of the admission staff while
being responsible for the recruitment and selection of undergraduates from a specific geographic territory.SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Director of Undergraduate Admissions CORE DUTIES:
Assist in the identification, recruitment and enrollment of prospective students from a geographic territory.
Conduct enthusiastic on-campus and off-campus group information sessions while working special recruitment events throughout the year.
Represent the University of New Haven at college fairs and college night programs throughout the year.
Provide admission counseling to prospective students and be responsible for day to day communications with students in person, via telephone, text or email.
Responsible for carrying out aspects of the admission and recruitment process including, but not limited to, planning and executing fall and spring recruitment travel.
Coordinate time-sensitive application workflow and process applications, including the evaluation of candidates for admissions, utilizing university guidelines to determine admissibility of students and ensuring that accepted students receive appropriate communication.
Through individual and group interactions, counsel prospective students, parents and guidance professionals throughout the college application and selection process.
In partnership with the Director of Admissions, identify and advance the recruitment priorities and strategies; develop metrics and yield models to improve student quality and enhance the selectivity and yield.
Remain current on all professional and industry requirements for each individual major within the college, which includes: curriculum, professional development, licenses, graduate school entrance requirements, internships/ co-op needs, industry certifications, and basic necessities to enter the intended field of work.
Assist with the planning and managements of several visit programs and related on-campus recruiting programs, and work closely with senior administrators and faculty members, including the College’s Dean, Associate Dean, Faculty Department Chairs, and other administrators as needed. This includes, but is not limited to attending college specific staff meetings, working on special projects assigned by the Director of Undergraduate Admissions that directly impact and benefit specific colleges.
Provide exceptional customer service during all on-campus and special off-campus events (such as Open House, Accepted Student Day, Accepted Student Receptions)
Must continuously promote the University of New Haven to all prospective students and families, alumni, industry colleagues, and community
Work in coordination with the Director of Undergraduate Admissions on special projects throughout the year.
Bachelor's degree required; Master’s Degree preferred and a minimum of 4+ years of admission experience required, with a minimum of one year of supervisory experience preferred.
Ability to represent the University of New Haven in a variety of situations and be able to competently interact with a diverse population of prospective students, faculty and staff.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft suite of products required; Sungard Banner Experience preferred; CRM system experience required, preferably with TargetX.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required for the travel component of the position.
Ability and willingness to travel
Ability to work evening and weekends, as needed.
