GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Cape Cod Community College is seeking part-time, "over-hire," theatre professionals to support events at the Tilden Arts Center. Experienced technicians and arts administrators are needed for occasional work to supplement our full-time staff on an on-call, as-needed basis. Duties may range from backstage crew for full show load-ins, technical direction for simple events, light and/or sound board operation, box office or other front-of-the-house staffing. Individuals will work specific events as it relates to their area of expertise.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Support event load-in/out and production run as backstage crew with duties that include hang and focus theatrical lighting, rig, hang, and fly scenery, or act as swing technician.
Assist with box office ticket sales for events and performances, maintain accurate sales records, verify daily sales reports, and make deposits of ticket receipts.
Program and/or run digital sound/light boards.
Provide front-of-house support as House Manager or Usher.
Work independently as Technical Director on duty for simple events that cannot be covered by in-house crew.
Associate degree plus adequate experience working live entertainment events.
Demonstrated ability to work amicably with students, staff, venue clients, and the general public.
Strong organizational skills, attentiveness to detail and the ability to multi task, prioritize, and work independently.
Excellent time management skills, aptitude for proper task prioritization and a results-oriented work process.
Willing to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of theatrical carpentry, electric, sound engineering and rigging.
COMPENSATION: $17.00-$20.00 per hour, based on experience. Part-time, as-needed, up to 18 hours per week.
