JOB SUMMARY: This unique role will provide strategic leadership for all aspects of the global records information compliance program in addition to the oversight of an established attraction development document control function in partnership with the Universal Creative Project Management Office (PMO) and key project stakeholders for all of Universal Creative.
The RICP Director will oversee all document control lifecycle tasks for the Universal Creative in support of project execution and day-to-day operations. He/she will work with the PMO and project execution teams to develop and implement global standards for document control process and procedures across all Universal Creative projects and geographies. Additionally the RICP Director will work with the Universal Creative operations leadership to develop processes and procedures to support the day-to-day activities of the business..
The RICP Director will also oversee and act as the primary business owner for the Universal Creative suite of records and information management (RIM) technical applications and tools. He/she will work with key business and IT stakeholders to manage the governance, and procedures for the existing toolset and investigate new tools when necessary to continue to provide leading class support to the project and organizational support teams.
The RICP Director will be responsible for overall enterprise-wide strategy and implementation of document and records management automation, business process management, information governance, archiving and retention, development of corporate policies, enterprise deployment of RIM and Document Control principles, as well as training of all Universal Creative team members.
This position will be responsible for the development and management of Records Management and Document Control team members ensuring a clear growth and development roadmap for all.
Directs the team that designs, plans, and implements operational components of the RIC Program to support project execution through the management of critical project documentation including, but not limited to: Deliverable Submittals, Transmittals, RFPs, RFIs, etc.
Directs the team that designs, plans, and implements operational components of the RIC Program to support the day-to-day operations and long term archival of critical corporate records for functions such as HR, Finance, Legal, IT, Facilities, etc.
Supports and acts as the primary business owner for the RIC Program technology portfolio. This includes the development, maintenance and stewardship of any policies, procedures and/governance for the identified RIM systems including the deployment of new tools to support the needs of the business. In this function the RICP Director will partner closely with Universal IT to support the RIM toolset.
Designs, develops and maintains division records management metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of the program in partnership with project and operations leadership.
Develops and implements the supporting strategic communications plan for the RIC Program to engage, educate, and influence leaders about document control and records management issues, policies, procedures, and controls. This includes the development, implementation, and delivery of senior staff communications concerning the effectiveness of the RIC program.
Independently sets strategy to prioritize and remediate records management and document control risks by designing and influencing the adoption of best practices across the organization.
Develops and implements both process and systems training programs to ensure standard compliance with RICP, processes and policies.
Collaborates with key stakeholders and leaders from various divisions within Universal Creative, NBCU and UPR to influence the adoption and on-going engagement with the RIC Program. Key stakeholder groups include Engineering, Creative Studio, Architecture, IT, HR, Legal, Finance, Tech Services and Universal Document Control.
Advises senior executives regarding record management and document control strategies and compliance
Leads external communications to clients and vendors about Universal’s records management and document control practices.
Leads special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
SCOPE: Non-routine; Significant decision-making and ability to adapt strategy to complex, expanding development environment with multiple internal and external stakeholders; detailed understanding of technical issues required. Influences decisions of complex nature requiring high degree of tact. Planning horizon: Execute short term strategy while maintain focus on a longer-term RIC program vision. Planning knowledge: In-depth department operating plan; awareness of overall Company goals. Responsibility: Establish and execute RIC Program.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree is preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 10+ years of the management of high visibility projects and relevant records management and document control experience required. Experience in fast-paced, document intensive industries preferred (architectural firm, construction, engineering, design studio); or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Information governance professional (IGP) – American Records Management Association
Certified records manager – Institute of Records Managers
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Required knowledge of various digital applications, file formats and design limitations. Knowledge of various documentation management and collaboration solutions such as SharePoint, Office365, Documentum, Egnyte, Nuexo, BIM360, Plan Grid, Autodesk, and other DAM related applications.
