Under the direct supervision of the Senior Development and Planning Manager, the Development and Planning Consultant works in collaboration with the Development and Planning Manager to provide targeted support to ICAP's Planning and Development (P&D) team as well as cross-cutting support to the Strategies and Partnership (S&P) Unit in which the P&D team sits. The role will support the planning and implementation of ICAP's grant management including pre bid development, proposal management and knowledge management as well as provide broader, unit-wide support as needed.
New Business and Pre-bid Management (20%)
Monitors new funding opportunities and synthesizes information from external list-serves, dashboards, subscriptions, and donor databases
Develops succinct summaries of solicitations and carefully tracks the status of opportunities in the pre-bid phase
Proposal Development and Post-proposal Management (55%)
Working with the Development and Planning manager, supports the proposal development process in response to specific US Government (USG) and non-USG funding opportunities, from proposal kick-off through post-submission debrief
Works within ICAP's online project management system to track tasks and follow up on actions to ensure timely completion of deadline-driven tasks and outcomes
Contributes to the development and/or adaptation of institutional capacity statements, past performance references, organizational charts, skills matrices, and other key proposal-related supporting documentation
Participates in the recruitment and tracking of high-quality external proposal writing consultants
Knowledge Management (5%)
Serves as the knowledge management focal point on specific proposal development teams
Contributes to the planning and implementation of special projects and performs other related duties as assigned
Cross-cutting Unit Support (15%)
Manages proposal consultant onboarding processes
Supports existing and forthcoming development campaigns vis a vis various funding streams
Provides as-needed support to the Strategy and Partnerships Unit as a whole as well as targeted support to its additional sub-units: Award Management and Communications
Perform other related duties as assigned - 5%
Bachelor's degree in relevant field or comparable education and professional experience
Minimum three (3) years of experience in the area of global health, development and/or international project planning and management
Experience with international health and/or program design
Demonstrated hands-on experience responding to funding solicitations from USG and non-USG entities
Strong attention to detail crucial
Strong, professional writing skilled required.
Master's degree in relevant field or comparable professional experience
