The Elon University Department of Athletics invites applications for the Assistant Director of Communications for Athletics role. This position is responsible for assisting with the strategic communications and comprehensive public relations for Elon Athletics and the department's 17 NCAA Division I varsity sport programs. The Assistant Director of Communications for Athletics reports to the Director of Athletics Communications and Creative Services and will be an integral member of the Athletic Communications office.
BS / BA required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary liaison to the media for assigned teams, including but not limited to men's basketball, and ensure the timely dissemination of accurate information, social media posts, pregame and post-game digital content, press releases, results and statistics.
Have in-game and hands-on experience of Stat Crew software.
Create visual content for the department and teams within the department. This includes some elements of graphic design, videography, and visual storytelling to engage an audience through digital media.
Write and edit press releases, game notes and feature releases; Maintain and update history and record books; Manage team rosters, statistics, records and photo archives; Manage and edit the athletics website.
Work with the Athletics administration and coaches to conceptualize, design, produce and distribute print, electronic and video material such as media guides, recruitment publications, game programs and email updates.
Provide digital media support, including strategic website updates, social media, video and digital asset management; Manage, coordinate and monitor all media relations social media posts.
Be self-motivated, have knowledge and strong interest in college athletics, game production, social media and digital marketing.
Be responsible for meeting deadlines and coordinating multiple tasks effectively and efficiently.
Responsible for understanding and adhering to all Elon University, Colonial Athletic Association and NCAA rules and regulations.
