Responsibilities also include grant writing, service, outreach and participation in other academic functions. Industry experience desirable.
Required: Ph.D. at time of appointment in apparel and textiles or related field.
Preferred: Candidates will be evaluated on ability to teach courses in apparel product development with computer applications, and/or related areas, evidence of scholarship, and potential for success in research, grant writing, teaching, and outreach.

The Department of Textile and Apparel Management is one of six units in the College of Human Environmental Sciences at the University of Missouri. TAM apparel labs include industry-specific production equipment as well as a KX-16 3-D body scanner, laser cutter, Optitex, and Mutoh digital textile printer. The Missouri Historic Costume and Textile Collection houses over 6,500 items. The Department has about 250 students and offers programs in apparel retailing & digital merchandising, and apparel product development. The Department also offers an undergraduate minor and is one of four University of Missouri programs involved in a multidisciplinary initiative through the Center for the Digital Globe. Additionally, there are approximately 10 graduate students seeking master's and Ph.D. degrees. TAM has an advisory board that works with the department to provide a liaison with industry, and graduates from TAM work for companies both large and small throughout the world. The department has a spirit of positive development and teamwork. Key foci of the department include the development of leadership, creativity, global perspective, and attention to sustainability across the supply chain.
