PROJECT MANAGER, OPERATIONS , Facilities-Repair and Maintenance (R&M) , to plan capital renewal and major repair order (MRO) budgets, scheduling, and projects for the R&M group at MIT's main campus that encompasses over 150 buildings and thirteen million square feet of space. Will define, manage, and coordinate facility requirements and implement multiple complex construction projects; facilitate customers' needs and priorities while meeting quality, time, and budget expectations; serve as an important resource in an expanding capital renewal program that includes buildings, roofs, facades, foundations, MEPFP systems, and other infrastructure upgrades; prepare schematics scoping for projects and secure approvals; develop project plans; coordinate efforts with appropriate planning, engineering, and design staff; manage oversight of A/E and CM/GC firms; review bids and contracts for materials and construction services against project requirements; and prepare correspondence, reports, and project records.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, or engineering field; at least five years' related experience including with mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) systems; experience organizing and analyzing data utilizing planning- and design-related software packages and desktop PC computer applications; ability to resolve and/or recognize when to escalate issues, listen to other opinions, and incorporate those ideas into the work plan; experience managing multiple, small to mid-size and moderately complex design and construction projects with a typical project scope of $10,000 to $1,000,000; knowledge and understanding of relevant Massachusetts' building codes/regulations; excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills; and the ability to give presentations, prepare written business reports, and negotiate and form alliances. Master's degree or PE/EIT license and a background in structural systems preferred.
