Position Summary: Come join our dynamic team of highly skilled Oracle / PeopleSoft professionals as we build, implement and support one of the largest PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 implementations hosted at Oracle Managed Cloud Services. The UC Office of the President is actively seeking a Senior PeopleSoft Administrator to support this critical project with enterprise-wide impact across all the campuses / medical centers and the Office of the President at all levels. Here you will have the ability to make a difference and have a real influence in how we can best manage and support this large implementation.
We are looking for a strong self starter who is passionate about pushing optimization and enhancing performance across large and extremely complex PeopleSoft deployments. You will posses excellent project management skills and the ability to guide a diverse team of highly skilled individuals while managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. The candidate will be able to apply expert level skills in all aspects of PeopleSoft administration and serve as a technical leader in implementing and supporting enterprise PeopleSoft deployments. Core responsibilities include developing and implementing enterprise standards, policies, and best practices to manage and support PeopleSoft HCM and their corresponding components (Candidate Gateway, Talent Acquisition and Management, Integration Broker, etc) that support our large end-user population across multiple organizational units with high consequences of success or failure.

Duty 1: Manage and develop standards and documentation for best in class PeopleSoft framework in support of UCPath HCM applications including but not limited to (Peoplesoft HCM, Absence Management, TAM, CG, IB, Talemetry, Single Sign On, etc).
Manages collaboration and works closely with application development teams to test and configure Peoplesoft code.
Install, configure and support the core PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 implementation hosted at OMCS and AWS Develop, implement and maintain procedures to ensure a reliable and secure production environment.
Work with vendors and UCOP technical staff in resolving problems. Function:Program Management Percent: 30
Duty 2: Document systems, processes and procedures for OSMG and production control staff.
Transfer information to Computer Operations group for supporting production systems.
Provide on-call production support for critical applications as needed. (UCPath, etc) Function:General Support Percent: 25
Duty 3: Identify best practice techniques to tune Peoplesoft performance in order to address customer needs and complaints.
Manage and respond to service now requests, incidents and changes. Involves in problem management, log analysis and performance optimization of different hosted applications. Evaluate various hardware and software solutions to meet business requirements. Develop procedures for implementation of new hardware and software.
Maximize PeopleSoft Performance by performing system analysis, monitoring and tuning; troubleshooting hardware, software, networks, OS; escalating application problems to vendors, suggesting process improvements and helping in developing Standardization. Function:Performance Optimization Percent: 20
Duty 4: Train and mentor development of other PeopleSoft admins in technical tools and techniques in order to maximize their contribution to the team.
Responsible for suggesting, reviewing and justifying new technical tools and techniques and managing our PeopleSoft implementation. Function:Collaboration Percent: 15
Duty 5: Provide expert troubleshooting for isolating technical problems in PeopleSoft Internet Architecture (PIA) including Oracle databases, Tuxedo Application Servers on Unix, Process Schedulers on both Unix and NT, WebLogic configuration, FTP servers, Elastic Search, Application Engine, Data Mover, SQR, Cobol, BI Publisher, Application Messaging/Integration Broker, PS Query, PeopleCode, Security, ExcelToCI, VMWare PUM staging, SSL Certificates, SSO, SOA and integration components; debug and optimize SQL statements. Function:Technical Support Percent: 10
Job Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information management or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and training. Required
Skills/Experience: At least 8 years of experience performing PeopleSoft HCM Administration in a large Enterprise environment with products such as SSO, TAM, IB, AM.
At least 8 years of experience with Apache/IHS/IIS web server administration.
Demonstrated expertise with trouble shooting Peoplesoft applications on Unix/Windows systems. Demonstrated understanding of security concepts in a Peoplesoft environment and experience with COBOL.
Demonstrated strong analytic and problem solving skills. Required Excellent interpersonal skills as demonstrated by the ability to interact with others in a consistently positive manner, exercising discretion and tact.
Excellent written communications skills which demonstrate the ability to draft clear, concise specifications, documentation and reports.
Highly developed interpersonal communication skills to effectively convey and explain technical information and the ability to influence/persuade others.
Liaise with vendors, UC campuses and tactfully deal with diverse people and situations.
Demonstrated ability to plan assignments and monitor performance according to priorities as demonstrated by regularly meeting established deadlines.
Ability to function in a leadership role on projects.
Demonstrated ability to perform competently under pressure, handling interruptions and changes without losing productivity.
Must be able to provide 24x7 on call support as assigned.
