RiverBank's Risk Department is an important part of the Bank's second line of defence. The Risk staff cover the management and monitoring of the credit risk process including the organisation of the risk committees as well as risk analyses, stress testing programmes, the Bank's ICLAAP and Recovery Plan and other strategic projects. The Risk Department is also monitoring on an ongoing basis the regulatory requirements issued by the CSSF, the BCL, the EBA, the BCBS, the ECB and the ESMA where relevant in consideration of the Bank's business model and activities.
Monitor the bank's loan portfolio and profile evolution
Ensure all conditions precedent are satisfied prior to loans being disbursed
Validation of ratings and annual updates of ratings
Review credit applications (rating, CPs, collateral) and ensure completeness and accuracy of risk metrics
On-going monitoring of loan portfolio covenants and conditions subsequent
Prepare monthly IFRS9 provisioning calculations
Support the Risk Department on general risk and operational risk topics
Ensure loans and collateral are correctly represented in the bank's systems
Review counterparty risk, monitor and evaluate changes in the market in respect of quality of such exposure
Support preparation of papers for ALCO, Watchlist, ExCO and Risk committees and prepare meeting notes
Maintain minutes of Credit Committee, ALCO, Watchlist and other key committees
Maintain credit and rating methodology manuals
Ensure all new loans are correctly quantified in terms of PD and sector classification
Prepare limit reports and monitor limit usage
Monitor the loan monitoring tools and dashboards for accuracy and effectiveness
Ensure the regulatory reporting is compliant with the requirements of the regulator
Work cross functionally with Sales, Credit and BMO to automate operational processes
Skills and Competencies
3 to 5 years' experience in Risk Methodology or Credit Risk in a bank
Significant generalist broad based risk knowledge
Experience of day-to-day business operational procedures
Extensive knowledge of Banking (preferably Commercial Banking) and working in a regulated environment
Evidence of providing challenge e.g. where business strategy or plans exceeded risk appetite and tolerance
Ability to influence and advise senior management on risk e.g. Bank's exposure relative to limit thresholds
Strong analytical, problem solving and data analysis skills
High attention to detail, strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Fluency in English required with Dutch and/or German language desirable
University degree/ professional qualification in finance, mathematics, banking
