The Risk Office supports that goal by identifying, assessing, and evaluating risks and opportunities and mitigating risks that may significantly affect the company’s ability to achieve its strategic goals.
As the Business Continuity Professional, you’ll provide support to the Chief Risk Officer and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) function by managing all aspects of the company’s business continuity program including vendor risk management. The role performs risk assessments, conducts business impact analysis assessments and develops business continuity testing requirements.
Essential Job Functions:
The ideal person for this position is analytically minded, driven for results, able to work and make decisions independently, as well as possess high levels of integrity and trust.
Develop, document and communicate business continuity procedures throughout the organization.
Effectively interact with business units to conduct risks assessments, business impact analysis and develop business continuity plans.
Work closely with Information Technology on disaster recovery procedures.
Work closely with Management on oversight of business resiliency objectives to include crisis management, medical response, employee communication and disaster recovery.
Develop, coordinate, facilitate and document business continuity testing exercises.
Assures business continuity and IT disaster recovery tests are maintained in an executable state.
Manage the company’s vendor risk management program to mitigate third party risk, including system administration.
Develop reporting mechanism and monitoring reports on BCP and VRM plans.
Use professional knowledge, experience, skills to influence, guide, monitor and credibly challenge, as appropriate, BCP procedures.
Bachelor’s degree required.
At least two years of experience in business continuity, disaster recovery or related field.
Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the skills necessary to perform the essential functions of the job.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong analytical, process and organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to act in a consultative manner as a trusted adviser, as well as provide effective challenge.
Ability to work independently, prioritize and manage multiple processes.
Ability to effectively interface with all levels of internal management, other departments and stakeholders across the organization.
Business Continuity Professional Certification or in progress of obtaining certification.
Understanding of risk management practices and methodologies, including risk assessment and a solid understanding of internal control and mitigation strategies.
Understanding of insurance industry.
Project management experience.
Telecommuting is allowed. Employer will assist with relocation costs.
