Description This position will support The UC Davis Violence Prevention Research Program (VPRP), a unit of the School of Medicine and an internationally-recognized leader in research on firearm violence, and in coordination with the University of California Firearm Violence Research Center (UCFC).

THIS IS NOT AN H-1 B OPPORTUNITY THIS IS A ONE-YEAR CONTRACT APPOINTMENT AND MAY BE EXTENDED BASED ON CONTRACT/GRANT FUNDING. CURRENT FUNDING FOR THIS POSITION ENDS 6/30/2021.
Qualifications REQUIRED -Experience performing and summarizing scientific literature reviews. -General understanding of principles of epidemiological study design. -Experience interpreting criminal history records and knowledge of the California penal code. -Experience with research data acquisition. -Experience with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) or related database management software.
PREFERRED -Bachelor's degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, or related field. -Knowledge of public health surveillance databases. -Experience obtaining, managing, and/or analyzing large datasets for multidisciplinary research projects. -Knowledge and application of project management principles and concepts. -Possession of excellent organizational and interpersonal skills appropriate to project support responsibilities. -Knowledge of and ability to adhere to University and departmental policies and procedures, and/or Sponsor requirements for maintaining confidentiality of all private information (clinical, criminal, and personal).

Responsibilities The Research Data Analyst 2 will work as a member of VPRP's research team and will be involved in research on firearm violence, violence of other types, individual and social determinants of violence, risk prediction, and disparities in the criminal justice system.
