Chapin School, a coeducational three-year-old through eighth grade independent school located in Princeton, NJ, seeks an energetic, dynamic, and collaborative professional for the position of Director of Development. Reporting to the Head of School, the Director of Development is responsible for designing and implementing a fundraising plan to meet the school’s financial goals. The Director of Development is a member of the Administrative Team.
Candidates are able to:
Research, identify, and lead the implementation of a diverse and multifaceted fundraising program, to support the school’s strategic plan.
Cultivate a culture of giving and gratitude across all constituencies and socio-economic strata.
Engage in active stewardship by forging strong relationships with diverse constituencies of the school to influence and maximize contributions.
Develop plans for the Annual Fund.
Cultivate and direct solicitation of donors.
Work with the Development Committee of the Board of Trustees.
Five years of experience in an educational setting or other relevant organization (with preference for independent school experience).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with best practices in social media and digital marketing.
Experience with fundraising databases.
Good judgement, confidentiality, integrity, and a sense of humor.
