Detailed Job Description The College of Art and Design is inviting candidates to apply for a part-time Sr. Staff Assistant position in the School of Art (SOA) and School for American Crafts (SAC) administrative office. This is an hourly position, and for the initial training period, the successful candidate will report three days per week. Once trained, the employee will report one or two days per week, will be expected to cover for staff vacations,and occasion weekend and evening events. This position reports to the Director of the School of Art/School for American Crafts.
Support School Director with calendar, travel arrangements, reimbursements, School events, etc.
Figure models - hire and maintain schedules; coordinate with faculty
All new hire tasks for adjunct faculty; onboarding new hires; coordinate access to restricted areas; maintain employee files
Kronos time card sign-off for figure models; backup for full-time SAC Sr. Staff Assistant's undergraduate and graduate student employees
Budget: Manage and reconcile pro card purchases for SOA and SAC; print and reconcile monthly budget statements
Current and Prospective Student Support:
Schedules - registration Add/Drop; resolve course conflicts; facility processing of student action forms
Responding to requests; scheduling meetings; directing to campus resources
Assist at College of Art and Design events for prospective students and their families: National Portfolio Day; Open House/Accepted Student Open House; College and Careers; Spring Preview Day; Creative Industry Day; Pre-College Portfolio Workshop, and others as appropriate.
Other duties as assigned
Required Minimum Qualifications
3 years administrative office work experience
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and proficient knowledge of PowerPoint
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to complete tasks efficiently while handling frequent interruptions
Excellent organizational and customer service skills, strong attention to detail, and comfortable working in a team environment.
