Reporting to the Director of Harvard Medical School Information Systems, the Information Systems Product Owner is responsible for overseeing the application strategy, data integrations, and production operations related to the SalesForce platform. Harvard Medical School Information Systems seeks a Product Owner who can work closely with business stakeholders and end users to represent the voice of the customer and build the vision of an integrated technology solutions suite. The Product owner is responsible for ensuring that the technology solution addresses customer requirements and achieves customer satisfaction in the solutions being delivered.
The Information Systems team is responsible for the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) from project inception through implementation through the ongoing support of the Harvard Medical School systems that support core functions related (but not limited to) Human Resources, Finance, Research Administration, Facilities Management, and Faculty and Student Affairs. The ideal candidate will be energized by solving problems in new and innovative ways. You are comfortable working in an ever-changing environment and have the ability to engage with stakeholders to identify the minimal viable product for frequent delivery of new technology solutions.
The Product Owner will work across Harvard Medical School and its Affiliated Hospitals to refine the vision and strategy for the SalesForce platform across multiple platforms, disciplines, and departments to deliver exceptional outcomes. The Product Owner is expected to have a depth of specific expertise in the SalesForce platform and will play a pivotal role in developing the next generation of mobile, user-responsive, technology solutions. Your success will be measured by how you're able to drive this strategy forward in terms of consolidating and sunsetting HMS legacy systems, integrating existing systems to reduce administrative burden and streamline processes, and your ability to engage and influence key partners in a distributed development environment.
Lead, plan, coordinate and document technology solutions development activities of large-scale across functional business units in support of the SalesForce platform. Solve large, highly complex and multi-faceted technical problems. Will manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Drive the SalesForce technology roadmap with input from business stakeholders, end users, HMS-IT,
HUIT, third-party vendor roadmaps, and industry input.
Build and manage the SalesForce team of certified SalesForce administrator(s) and developer(s) to support the SalesForce platform
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on the SalesForce platform and serve as an escalation point to resolve and troubleshoot complex issues related to existing systems and data integrations.
Accountable for the delivery of technology solutions and ensure that those solutions meet strategic and tactical business plan objectives.
Partner within HMS-IT to ensure that IT policies, procedures, and service level agreements are adhered to. Collaborate across various HMS-IT units that relate to infrastructure, architecture, project management, teaching & learning technologies, and security to ensure that the SalesForce platform is integrated and supported as a school enterprise application.
Function as an HMS-vendor lead and technical point of contact with third-party implementation partners and App exchange vendors, across HUIT, Hospital Affiliates, and IT user groups. Influence HUIT, Hospital Affiliates, and vendor roadmaps based on HMS product needs.

Minimum of seven years' post-secondary education and/or relevant work experience. SalesForce Certified. Experience managing certified salesforce administrator(s), developer(s) and 3rd party implementation partners.
