The research coordinator will work with physicians and a core group of project managers and coordinators on studies primarily related to microbiome and gastrointestinal health. These studies may include both industry sponsored clinical trials as well as investigator initiated studies funded through the NIH, CDC, private foundations, and industry sponsors. The coordinator will play a central role in planning and implementing studies at the University of Pennsylvania. Responsibilities include enrolling and monitoring patients in the studies, providing patient education, obtaining informed consent, payment of participants, completion of case report forms, implementation of study procedures, maintenance of regulatory compliance including IRB submissions and renewals, development of data management systems in REDCap and sample collection and processing. Generate and present weekly status reports of studies to team. Assist investigators with development of data collection forms, recruitment materials and other study documents. The coordinator will need to work well within a group setting including collaboration with other coordinators working on the same projects.
