The Ohio State University, Department of Video Services is looking for an Assistant Director, Live Events, BTN Student U. This person will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations for the Athletics Departments videoboard production operation and game presentation at the Covelli Center. This position will staff and oversee multi-camera, arena shows, game day displays, game archival and producing multiple game melts, as well as conceptualizing and creating unique original graphics and animations. Collaborate with others on numerous projects throughout the year including in-game promos, social media, sponsor integration and game day scripting. Supervise and train student production crew members to operate our 100% student run events at the Covelli Center. In addition, they will also assist with the production of BTN Student U broadcasts. This position will work to continuously improve the quality of the AV presentation systems insuring the highest quality guest experience. The position can be physically demanding; therefore, the successful candidate will possess the ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. This position will work many non-traditional and long hours to cover events that include regular evenings and weekends. Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience; three or more years of progressive experience in a multipurpose sports arena or similar sports and entertainment environment. Technical experience with NewTek Tri-Caster, Grass Valley, or similar switchers, Chyron/Click FX, or similar Graphics systems, NewTek 3-Play, GV Dyno, or similar replay systems, Adobe Creative Suite and experience producing live videoboard/broadcasting/streaming events. Strong communications skills and ability to work effectively across various internal departments. Highly organized with excellent project management skills, the ability to meet tight deadlines, and work effectively in a high-pressure environment. Available a flexible schedule with probable overnights, evenings, weekends and holidays, as needed per event schedule.
Motion Graphics experience with After Effects or similar software. Photo and Graphic design capabilities using Photoshop or similar software
Target Salary: $48,000.00 - $51,000.00 Annually
