The Director of Football Creative Video oversees all daily, weekly and yearly aspects of creative video production for the Michigan Football program. Reporting directly to the Associate Athletic Director for Football Communications, this position works directly with the U-M administrators, coaches and student-athletes to promote and maintain a positive image for the football program. This individual is also responsible for working with all related areas to ensure that the football program is providing a collaborative message that will successfully integrate with the athletic department’s initiatives. This position will adhere to all NCAA rules and regulations and fall under the ultimate supervision of the Head Football Coach.
Produce high quality, creative video productions for electronic distribution through social and digital media channels for @umichfootball.
Film, edit and produce content for various events and activities related to the operations of the football program, both on and off-campus.
Participate in weekly brainstorming meeting for football content.
Edit existing, archived football video to produce highlight packages.
Work closely with the program’s graphic design lead and football communications staff, implementing and developing social media distribution plans for online recruiting material and team coverage.
Log all footage shot and help organize video archives in conjunction with other video partners.
Produce recruiting videos and team highlight videos as requested.
Oversee creative video production student intern staff (as applicable).
Assist with various duties and miscellaneous functions throughout the year as assigned by the Associate Athletic Director for Football Communications.
Work closely with Michigan Sports Television on other football related projects for the athletic department (TV Shows, website content, etc.).
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor degree required with a minimum two years of video production work at the college or professional sports level.
Ability to think creatively.
Ability to create cutting-edge content for @umichfootball social channels (Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook).
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
Must demonstrate problem-solving skills and solution-focused approach to challenges and improvements.
Ability to utilize good judgment in the interpretation and application of policies and procedures and to exercise discretion in confidential matters is essential.
Ability to work well both independently and/or in collaboration with staff as a team member.
Understanding of college football and Michigan Football culture.
Must possess outstanding work ethic, organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary.
Must have a service-oriented attitude.
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Concur, M-Pathways, calendaring and email systems.
