This is an 'OPEN POOL' position. There may or may not be available openings at this time however, when an opening does occur, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants currently on file on an as needed basis. STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Our corporate trainers are experienced educators with in-depth knowledge in their subject matter field. Our trainers are deeply committed to deliver stellar customer service, and exhibit strong organizational skills and a positive attitude. BCC's Workforce Center clients trust our trainers with sensitive information, and our trainers have the highest level of integrity in all client interactions, respecting their organizational cultures and climates.
Our training opportunities are contract-based, and trainers may be contracted for multiple overlapping training project. Most training is delivered on weekdays, during normal work hours, on site at the client facility.
Many of our trainers have more than one area of subject expertise. Our portfolio includes specialties in foundational skills, process improvement, sales & customer service, leadership & management, and office technologies, including the following topics:
Foundational Skills: Communication, Problem Solving, Inter-cultural Awareness, Time Management, Basic Computer
Office Technologies: MS Office Suite, MS Project, Google Suite
Technical/Industry Specific Training: Engineers with machining and advanced manufacturing experience, ServSafe/TIPS, OSHA, CPR.
We are looking for instructors with experience in these topics, and are looking to add new topics and areas of expertise. Please share a comprehensive list of your current expertise and competencies - you never know when we might need just what you have to offer!
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as a training representative of BCC's Workforce Center under the direction of Center staff; promotes Center training portfolio and services
Provides regular status updates and feedback on training project implementation; refers questions and issues promptly to Center staff
Consult with clients in collaboration with Center staff to:
Conduct assessment to identify areas of training needs
Design effective training programs
Prepare educational material to client specifications
Conduct seminars, workshops, individual training sessions etc.
Keep attendance and other records; returns all materials and records in a timely fashion to Center staff
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Dean
All positions require appropriate experience and/or training, appropriate licensure when applicable, a CORI checks and able to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student body.
Proven experience as corporate trainer, consultant, coach/mentor; familiarity with organizational development principles and adult learning theory
Understanding of effective teaching methodologies and tools
Willingness to embrace and adopt new learning technologies and techniques
Commitment to remaining current in emerging trends, topics and new research in subject matter area(s) of expertise
Proficient in MS Office Suite, cloud-based software including Basecamp and Salesforce
Excellent communication, presentation and public speaking skills
Bachelor Degree in related field; Master's degree preferred; industry specific certification a plus; or a combination of experience, certification and training; e-learning software experience is an asset and ability to speak a language in addition to English.
POSITION STATUS: This is a project-based, part-time position with no benefits.
SALARY: Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
