JCFS Chicago is looking for a Safer Communities Coordinator who oversees the Safer Communities initiative: an educational effort to promote interpersonal safety in Jewish schools, camps, synagogues and other institutions. Fosters and maintains relationships, synergies and linkages across the Chicagoland Jewish and greater community and within the agency. This position provides presentations for a variety of audiences.
High Impact Service Delivery
In coordination with institutional leadership, organize and implement safe relationships focused programming and educational trainings for students, camp counselors, school administrators, rabbis and synagogue leadership, youth groups, and other audiences.
Develop and present educational trainings on a variety of topics for educators, school administrators, camp counselors, parents, and other professionals and community members.
Provide timely and appropriate information, support and guidance to teachers, camp counselors, synagogue leaders, parents, and institutional partners seeking information, resources and referrals.
Maintain and expand effective working relationships with key Jewish community institutional partners.
Promote seamless synergetic effort with agency programs.
Coordination and Leadership
Help ensure that programs and services are coordinated and in alignment with Agency mission & vision.
Work with the Continuous Quality Improvement department to measure, monitor and ensure strong clinical and related program outcomes.
Identify, investigate and recommend new paths for programming to address current trends and emerging Jewish community needs.
Strong organizational and project management skills
Strong presentation, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Ability to identify, nurture and sustain collaborative relationships
Comfortable working across the diverse denomination, affiliation and geographic Chicago-area Jewish community
Knowledge of the Chicago-area Orthodox community preferred
Ability to travel to various sites
Some evening and Sunday programs possible
