UCPath is the University of California's priority program to implement a single payroll, benefits, human resources and academic personnel solution for all UC employees. The ITS UCPath Systems Group provides research, design, development, and support services for the production UCPath environments for infrastructure and applications. This position is in the UCPath Systems Group within the Information Technology Services (ITS) department. The incumbent will work closely with business partners , UC Path Center , Project Team and others and leads a team of technology professionals who deliver service and support to a system-wide audience.
We are looking for an experienced PeopleSoft Solution Delivery Manager with a broad set of skills including database and application development and integration. Having a wide breadth of experience, the manager applies business process and analysis with organizational objectives to resolve complex issues with multi-campus impact. The ideal candidate will provides an overall vision and strategy for all the major technical components of the project and well as monitor, recommend and initiate changes in the PeopleSoft architecture to improve performance and efficiency.
The PeopleSoft Solution Delivery Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of the University's system-wide PeopleSoft HCM deployment. The incumbent leads and manages a diverse team of Technical Leads and Sr Peoplesoft Developers and is focused on overseeing daily support of the PeopleSoft applications. The position is responsible for the PeopleTools upgrade management, PUM support and overall strategy. The Delivery Manager also provides the overall vision and strategy for the technical components of UCPath.
In addition to collaborating with core project team members, stakeholders, subject matter experts, and technical counterparts, the incumbent will manage the daily operational workload of the staff and mentor those less experience with PeopleSoft and the underlying technologies. The successful candidate will define tasks and make assignments and ensure that delivery of tasks is being completed . The PeopleSoft Solution Delivery Manager will create and ensure with his team adherence to UCOP TDS based process, workflows, and policies are met in all aspects while supporting the PeopleSoft System .

Duty 1: Supervise, lead, and develop staff which includes PeopleSoft Administrators, Database Analysts and Systems Integrators/Coordinators. Develops staffing plans, hires and manages staff, and evaluates performance of staff as well as consultants and contractors. Function:Management Percent: 25
Duty 2: Serves as a subject matter expert on production's support and operational practices for the University's Enterprise PeopleSoft implementation. Collaborates with the UCPath Project Management Office and other PeopleSoft Functional and Development teams to ensure comprehensive and timely delivery of all development, system administration, migration, environment and other technical needs for the overall system.
Provides management oversight for UCPath technology services and recommendations for tuning and upgrades for the UC Path Project. Leads discussions with Vendors and Partners for new installations, upgrades, patches and the documentation of procedures as needed. Determines methods and procedures on UCPath technical initiatives and provides leadership to other members of the organization. Subject matter expert on Oracle RDBMS and PeopleSoft application.
Participate in and provide input to production support model. Develop tools, templates and utilities to diagnose and fix problems. Provides routine and emergency 24x7 production support as part of a rotation. Works nights and weekends as needed to resolve issues, implement changes and conduct necessary maintenance. Duty 3: Partners with the UCPC functional team and Payroll module SMEs as needed on system and business process issues as well as support and operational concerns. Collaborates with management, stakeholders, and key staff members throughout the organization to enhance and improve integration and support processes. Function:Collaboration Percent: 20
Duty 4: Leads production support and all projects and initiatives associated with the PeopleSoft HCM System. Manages the process to successfully deliver HCM system changes as needed for break/fixes, enhancement requests, software and OS upgrades, and new projects. Function:Production Support Percent: 20
Duty 5: Provide regular communication and status to our internal support teams and senior management. Deliver meaningful metrics and reporting to staff and executive audiences. Generate awareness of product road-map, major initiatives and potential risks. Document systems, processes and procedures for support teams and production control staff. Function:Reporting Percent: 10
Job Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information management or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and at least 10+ years of relevant experience.
Skills/Experience: Previous success in professional IT leadership roles, such as team lead, project management, supervisory, or managerial positions.
At least 3 full implementation project life cycle experience as a PeopleSoft Technical Lead/Project Manager with a thorough understanding of configuration and integration between major functional areas within PeopleSoft HCM 9.2
Proficiency in all technical aspects of PeopleSoft technology, including a thorough understanding of PeopleCode, PeopleTools 8.5x, Application Engine, BI Publisher, Application Package, Component Interface & Integration Broker, XML/BI Publisher, Fluid, AWE, SQR, SQL, PS Query and the entire PS technical stack including Oracle Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
Leadership for the HCM team to include team building within the team and with customers. Ability to assist in prioritization of work efforts for all projects and operation work.
Experience working with Cloud Service Providers on a cloud based platform
Demonstrated skill in managing technical and senior staff. Required
Working knowledge of network and server infrastructure and architecture.
Ability to coordinate issue resolution with team members and/or business partners.
Experienced in leading change management activities and managing their impact across the unit or department.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively present technical topics to individuals and groups with potentially varied levels of technical sophistication.
Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and nontechnical personnel at various levels in the organization.
Strong knowledge and understanding of service delivery principles.
