Reporting to the Vice Dean/Director of Marketing and Communications, the Associate Dean of Communications Management oversees a team of full-time staff, student workers, and outside vendors, to develop and implement a multi-platform content strategy with the goal of facilitating recruitment and increasing yield of undergraduate students.
* S/he is responsible for the day-to-day execution of content strategy, ensuring that all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for search and user experience for all channels with a focus on web properties (admissions.edu, blogs, virtual tour), mobile, video, print and and communications related to admissions decisions and recruitment/yield events.
S/he supervises and manages dedicated marketing resources (Admissions Officers, Communications Coordinator, Graphic Designer, student workers, etc) in the support of asset generation and branding and development/support of web based platforms (Web Manager). This includes the creation of complicated communication schedules, management of campus partners (in the generation of their assets) and project execution.
S/he oversees all Penn Admissions print publications, including the management of ongoing editorial review processes, updates, research, proofing and copy editing, as well as collaborating with Operations and Recruitment partners to establish the goals, budget and measurements of success for each print asset.
* S/he leads the process of developing standards, systems and best practices for content creation, distribution, and maintenance, including those related to Admission’s web properties.
* S/he collaborates with her team and the Office’s cross-campus partners to establish workflow for requesting, creating, editing, publishing and retiring content for print and digital assets, including all communications across decision release and yield.
S/he will serve on the senior leadership team both on the Admissions Leadership Board and within Marketing and Communications team, will supervise full-time employees, and will manage a budget. S/he will also dedicate one day to reading applications during the reading season.
This role is also responsible for managing a team of student workers in the support of asset collection and curation.
