Rowan University is seeking an experienced, innovative System Architect to join our growing community. In this position, you will work with a large and creative team to plan improvements to major service offerings including; hypervisor environments, enterprise storage, Windows and Active Directory, Linux, Citrix, network infrastructure, SIEM platforms and firewalls. Some of our current and upcoming initiatives include implementing Two-Factor authentication for 35,000 users, creating a disaster recovery plan for services distributed over four separate data centers, and a $12 million dollar project spanning 5 years to redesign core network functionality around updated security, scalability and availability requirements in a rapidly growing and changing IT environment.

Lead team brainstorming and planning activities in the conception and design of infrastructure service improvements
Propose and design enhancements to improve the performance, reliability, and security of all systems and services in accordance with industry standards
Lead technical projects for major initiatives, changes and deployments
Design, implement and test Disaster Avoidance and Recovery plans
Work with management to lead troubleshooting efforts in high-profile services
Create and maintain system documentation, diagrams, operational procedures, architectural documentation and ownership of server and application inventory
4-year degree or equivalent education. Professional experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
At least three years of position related experience.
Good working knowledge of system architecture and networking, TCP/IP, DNS/DHCP, Active Directory, Windows, Linux, enterprise storage environments, server environments, network infrastructure components, and VMware
Familiarity with standard methodologies surrounding the proper maintenance and support of a 24x7 server infrastructure
Awareness of security industry standards and technologies
Strength in solving technical problems and offering creative solutions
Ability to excel when working with multi-functional teams on complex IT projects
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
5+ years of experience in an enterprise environment
Technical project management experience
Experience planning and executing enterprise-wide infrastructure initiatives
Experience migrating on premises services to a cloud-hosted or SaaS model
Familiarity with managing one or more of the following tools: Visio, SolarWinds, VMware ESXi, NSX, vSAN and vSOM, Citrix, Fibre Channel, Infoblox, CentOS, Active Directory, Exchange, Google Apps, AWS, SQL Server, McAfee security and compliance platforms, HP servers and storage, HPC environments, Identity and Access Management, Netscaler or F5 load balancing, Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco telephony, routing and switching equipment and services.
Pertinent certifications, which could include VMware VCP/VCAP/VCDX, Microsoft MCSE, RedHat RHCE/RHCA, Citrix CCP/CCE, CCNA, PMP and/or ITIL
