The selected candidate will work within a collaborative environment, receiving day-to-day guidance from the Assistant Director of Content Strategy, and working alongside a small team of digital content creators and recruitment staff. The team reports to the Assistant Vice President of Recruitment.
We are looking for a content producer who understands how video and photography content supports strategic goals and how to creatively connect with target publics through video, photography and social media. This position will be responsible for video production for websites and marketing campaigns, managing multiple project timelines pertaining to video and photography, as well as assisting with social media community management and social media projects in collaboration with the Social Media Community Management Specialist. . The digital content producer will work with faculty, staff and students across the Division and the University, to thoroughly understand content needs and direction, identify storytelling opportunities and convert those opportunities into video and photography content that resonates with target publics.
The digital content producer will also support the student worker team, providing constructive feedback and guidance to these digital content contributors. The selected candidate will be flexible, creative and forward-thinking, who thrives working in a fast-paced team environment and has a growth mindset. Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent education ● One year of experience in content development, with an emphasis on producing and editing video content for various platforms ● Ability to plan and execute small- and large-scale photo/video shoots, working with team members and University stakeholders to scout locations, create shot lists and storyboards, write scripts, secure necessary permissions, and edit using Adobe software ● Photography experience, including editing with Adobe software ● Experience with interacting with end users and project clients ● Ability to work independently and as a part of a larger team ● Deadline-oriented and works well in a fast-paced environment ● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Strong writing experience, including writing blog posts, feature stories, website copy and other marketing copy ● Experience guiding student workers and/or interns ● Experience with producing content within a higher education environment ● Experience with a CMS such as Cascade ● Experience with WordPress ● Experience with Sprout Social or other social media management software ● Some experience with Google Analytics ● Some experience with SEO
