The Single Cell Sequencing Core at Boston University Department of Medicine seeks a research technician. The responsibilities will include single cell library preparation for RNA-seq using commercially available kits and in-house protocols, assistance to the Core Research Scientist with development and optimization of novel plate-based protocols and routine maintenance of the Core equipment and reagents inventory. Bachelors, Masters, equivalent degree in cell biology, biotechnology, biomedical engineering, or related fields. 1-3 years' work experience required. Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English are required. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are required. Experience in use of technology for project management and data recording is required. U.S. permanent residency status or ability to obtain visa is required. Experience performing cell culture and flow cytometry is required. Experience developing or applying dissociation techniques in the context of single cell RNA-seq is helpful, but not required.
