The Assistant Dean, Strategic Initiatives reports directly to the Dean and serves as a member of the Dean's Cabinet. This position is primarily responsible for promoting strategic initiatives in the areas of research, graduate and undergraduate education, and diversity.
Promote the research and academic agenda of the college by working closely with the executive leadership in the college. Engage with other colleges (internal to UH and external) to implement the Dean's strategic initiatives as related to research and other academic and administrative programs.
Develop, implement, and monitor programs to create and sustain diversity within the Bauer College. Collaborate with executive leadership in the College to develop and deploy diversity training programs to enhance faculty, staff, and student understanding of inclusion and diversity.
Assist faculty and staff with the creation of online and experiential learning programs to expand the curriculum offerings for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as training and certificates for executives and industry partners.
Cultivate relationships with industry partners and other collaborators to promote the Dean's strategic goals for the College. Develop and manage a plan of events in alignment with the Dean's priorities.
Accompany Dean to key events and meetings in order to further strategic priorities and gain awareness of potential new initiatives.
Create and implement co-curricular and professional development programs for PhD students to develop their teaching skills, and their readiness for the job market.
Work collaboratively with faculty to create training opportunities for PhD students and junior faculty.
Work collaboratively with relevant departments internal and external to Bauer to disseminate information to promote faculty, student, and staff accomplishments.
Assist in the accreditation process by facilitating the validation of data and by disseminating reports to internal and external stakeholders.
In collaboration with the Executive Director, Business Operations, assist the Dean with project management and financial aspects of promoting the school's stature and advancing the College agenda.
Terminal degree required (Ph.D/Ed.D)

A minimum of 5 years of higher education experience at a major university.
