The Network Design Technician III with AutoCad specialty position requires heavy daily usage of the software AutoCad and other documentation platforms including Net Terrain, Blue-beam PDF manipulations, Google spreadsheets and documents and other drawing and database typical applications. This position aiding both the Construction Project Designer as well as the Project Manager also aids the entire technical OIT department with modernizing campus drawings, floor-plans, pathways, asset locations (cameras, cellular nodes, speakers, data outlets, wiring rooms) to best allow for efficiency of systems installed and deployed.
Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma required. 3-5 years of proven AutoCad 2016 or modern software application use and expertise. A familiarity with basic business and construction protocol. The ability to troubleshoot and operate a large plotter, its service and paper configurations. A willingness to learn and utilize a campus wide fiber optic tracking system (training will be provided) as well as manipulating AutoCad drawings to both Google cloud space as well as to PDF drawings for storage in the cloud. The applicant should have the ability to use Google applications including Sheets, Docs and Maps and have the ability to open, edit and share them.
Preferred Qualifications: College associates degree or equivalent trade school training, IBEW, etc 5 years of hands-on on small-medium construction jobs for data/voice/video/DAS installations. Proficiency in use of AutoCad as a drawing platform specifically in the electrical and /or civil package. Expertise using Google platforms including Gmail, Sheets, Cloud storage/sharing, Docs, etc. Familiarity in editing photos using Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop. Familiarity in editing PDFs using Bluebeam editing software.
