Two-Year Postdoctoral Fellowship in Medication Adherence Intervention Research - (190000RG)
The University of Maryland School of Social Work is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to begin in Summer 2019. The fellowship provides an opportunity for postdoctoral scholars to advance intervention research on medication adherence for individuals with serious mental illness using advanced telemedicine technologies. The Fellow will be provided time, space, and mentoring to develop his/her early career scholarship.
The Postdoctoral Fellow will work primarily with Dr. Jay Unick in the School of Social Work to manage a NIMH funded clinical trial of an intervention to reduce medication errors and non-adherence among individuals diagnosed with serious mental illness. The Fellow's specific project-related responsibilities will be developed in consultation with Dr. Unick, and may include project management, supervision of data collection, data management/analyses, grant writing, and manuscript preparation.
The postdoctoral fellowship is a two year full time appointment. A doctoral degree in Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, or a related field is required. Applicants must have defended their dissertation prior to beginning the fellowship, and must be within three years of completing their doctorate. Preferred candidates will have:
Previous experience in research with persons diagnosed with serious mental illness and medication adherence;
Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills, including effective oral/written communication, as evidenced by publications or grant-writing experience;
Experience conducting mixed-methods research, including quantitative and qualitative analytical skills;
Proficient computer skills use statistical packages and proficiency in navigating and maintaining databases. Experience with Stata and NVivo is preferred.
