Association Management Center seeks a Marketing Manager to join our team. This position will be part of a small account team supporting two of AMC’s clients, the Awards and Personalization Association (APA), and the Council of Engineering and Scientific Society Executives (CESSE).
The Marketing Manager will lead and execute the marketing and communications initiatives for two clients and achieve success with program and budgetary goals in alignment with organizational goals. The successful candidate is a creative self-starter who takes initiative and is a natural problem solver.
Manage communications to members and prospective members including e-newsletters, e-mails, promotion for events, press releases, social media posts, and web copy.
Lead the development of promotional collateral for trade shows, meetings, and membership programs.
Working with the team, ensure website is updated regularly, identify and execute opportunities to increase web traffic, and develop strategies to increase the effectiveness of web and social media efforts.
Write scripts for key sessions at association events.
Work with assigned committees/volunteers to help with achievement of strategic goals.
Act as a brand manager to ensure the association brand guidelines are being followed in all communications.
Develop budgets for marketing initiatives.
Perform other duties as determined appropriate.
5 years in a professional marketing/communications environment with demonstrated experience and success.
Digital marketing skills.
Experience in the association management sector with focus on membership growth and engagement and event attendance, desired.
Bachelor’s degree required—English, journalism, marketing, communications, or a related field.
Strong writing skills with experience in writing both print and web copy.
Experience in use of social media, SEO, and web-based marketing programs.
Strong project management skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team.
Strong customer orientation and focus on achieving client goals.
Experience in developing and maintaining budgets.
Professionalism: good judgment; ability to interact with all levels of staff, volunteers, and vendors; appropriate demeanor and appearance; confidence.
Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), knowledge of HTML, and experience with e-mail marketing program (Informz/Higher Logic is a plus), and confidence and ability to learn new software as needed.
Ability to travel out of state and overnight 4-5 times per year.
