The Editorial Services Coordinator will provide writing, editing and proofing skills to tell the vibrant stories of the UTA Libraries in print and digital outlets.
Provide direction and guidance for content storytelling, supporting the Libraries' communication and marketing goals and strategies with relevant editorial content for a wide range of print and electronic communications. In collaboration with other members of the marketing and communications team, work with Libraries clients to develop, write, and edit compelling content that promotes the Libraries in ways that successfully reach target audiences. Plan and coordinate the master editorial schedule for the Libraries to ensure timely delivery of stories, press releases, website content and social media content. Exercises excellent news judgement in the selection of editorial content. Cultivates story ideas from across campus and promotes collaboration. Conduct quality control and manage editorial workflow; ensure adherence with University Editorial Guidelines. Ensure accuracy and factcheck all content. Research emerging trends in marketing content, share best practices, facilitate critique among student employees in editorial services. Train and supervise student assistants as needed. Serve on cross functional campus and Libraries teams; participate in professional growth activities. Perform other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, public relations, communications, marketing or related field or equivalent experience, and two (2) years of print and electronic communications experience.
Master's degree in journalism, English, public relations, communications, marketing or related field, and three (3) of print and electronic communications experience with one (1) year of supervisory experience. Previous experience in higher education or marketing field. Direct experience writing and editing; Social Media experience. Advanced editing and writing skills. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paces, deadline-driven environment.
