Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Learning & Development Specialist is responsible for ensuring a comprehensive and dynamic development experience for a diverse client base. This role supports development initiatives across the University and requires innovative and iterative program communications, fully utilizing the learning management system, delivering effective new hire orientation presentations, supporting online learning and in-person workshop as well as other organizational and personal development engagements as assigned. Key responsibilities include (but not limited to) classroom set-up, workshop materials and updates, workshop evaluation and metrics, workshop logistics and program marketing such as website content, email communications, info-graphics, e-learning and multi-media content, etc. This role will provide essential data driven analysis for overall development strategy, priorities and talent building initiatives.
Identify and create reporting analytics across program offerings, platforms and client groups.
Track workshop enrollment and workshop feedback and provide recommendations for new and updated development programs, topics and marketing strategies.
Partners with team members to create and evaluate blended learning content and curriculum.
Program Marketing and Communications:
Co-design program marketing for L&D website, emails and targeted promotions.
Tailor promotions for diverse platform offerings (e.g., classroom, blended and online learning).
Design brochures, info-graphics, instructor-led and online content.
Track program marketing impact and participant enrollment rate and adjust outreach strategy.
Training Logistics and Inventory:
Secure updated program content with internal and external workshop facilitators.
Provide classroom set up and verify logistics (e.g., printing workbooks, room reservations, catering, sending course pre-work, post-workshop and development activities, etc.)
Order workshop supplies as needed (flip charts, workshop content inventories, etc.)
Update training workshop materials (as requested).
Coordinate catering services for L&D sponsored workshops and events.
New Hire Orientation:
Facilitates new hire orientation program, updating in-person and online learning content.
Supports presentation schedule and associated communications with scheduled guest speakers.
Partners with HR Communications, Help Desk and guest speakers to respond to client inquiries.
Workshop Development and Facilitation:
Co-designs and develops content for workshops including job aids and experiential activities.
Partners with L&D colleagues to customize and facilitate client group roadshows.
Co-design and co-facilitates in person and online learning programs.
Designs multi-media resources to support program learning and facilitation.
Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent related experience required.
Minimum of three years of related experience required.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong ability to work within an agile, collaborative environment with large projects and target team priorities.
Demonstrated ability to maintain energy, enthusiasm and commitment.
Excellent ability to analyze, structure, and synthesize information.
Strong project management, time management and follow-up skills.
Superior PC skills with experience in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
Master's degree in OD/OE or a related field preferred.
Experience using Adobe Creative, HTML and website design a plus.
