PROJECT MANAGER , Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) and Broad Institute , to work under the supervision of Professor Manolis Kellis. Will drive a multidisciplinary team to high impact science. The team is working at the interface of genomics, technology, machine learning, and biology and seeks to understand and manipulate the molecular basis of human disease. Its work is defined by large-scale data integration, interdisciplinary collaborations, technological innovation, and experimental manipulations. Will help support all managing efforts of the lab, both on the computational and the experimental side, including providing project-level guidance to lab members, managing major group milestones, fund-raising, budget coordination, and interactions with collaborators in academia and industry.
REQUIRED : five years' experience; B.S. (master's/Ph.D. preferred) in a scientific/technical discipline, e.g., computational biology, genomics, genetics, molecular biology, biological engineering, biology, or related field; strong analytical, organizational, project management, interpersonal, relationship management, and verbal and written communication skills; self-motivation; demonstrated success managing and bringing highly complex projects with multiple dependencies, participants, and stakeholders to life; good judgment, tact, and diplomacy with confidential information; meticulous attention to detail; and experience with basic cloud-based collaborative tools including Google docs, Dropbox, Gmail, shared calendars, and smart phone apps. Must be able to prioritize in a rapidly changing, time-sensitive environment; learn new things continuously and quickly; distill complex issues and translate them into concrete action plans; meet deadlines and deliver high quality results; and work effectively and productively both independently and in a team-based environment across all levels.
