Alumni Relations & Development
Sets and achieves University fundraising and engagement goals. Designs, manages, and executes development strategies and programs to maximize philanthropic support for the University’s priorities. Increases engagement and participation of the University’s worldwide community of alumni, parents, families and friends via diversified communication programs and activities.

Manages and executes strategies designed to meet University fundraising goals. Builds relationships with faculty and administrators to support prospect visits. Builds relationships with alumni, parents, families and friends, with potential to make gifts in support of the University. Develops communication plans for individual solicitations.
P4: Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise. Interprets internal or external University issues and recommends best practices. Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions. Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations. May lead cross-functional or divisional teams or projects.
The job has deep knowledge and expertise in leading programs designed to meet fundraising goals for contributed income. Serves as strategist of efforts to secure gifts and build relationships with alumni, faculty, administrators and organizations with potential to make gifts. Develops communication strategies for projects.
1) Establishes fundraising goals and priorities based on department objectives, designs strategies to meet those goals, and monitors progress against goals. Manages a portfolio of current and potential donors., 2) Identifies, analyzes, and qualifies donor interest to maximize giving. Assists with overall planning efforts for the University's most important prospects. Works independently to develop communication strategies for projects, including publications and public presentations., 3) Works closely with Senior Leadership, Officers and Deans to design strategic objectives and action steps that will lead to the successful realization of these projects., 4) May brief senior level administrators in preparation for contact with prospects., 5) Performs other related work as needed.
Support the Associate Dean of Alumni Relations and Development in establishing long-range goals and objectives for development programs and activities that reflect the priorities of the Harris as described by the Dean.
Fundraising and Leadership Engagement:
1) Identify, cultivate, and solicit prospective donors who can make gifts at the major gift level of $100,000+.
2) Qualify new prospects and determine individual cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
3) Utilize University resources effectively to draw conclusions about donor capacity and affinity.
4) Deliver timely and effective follow-up to prospects and donors, including correspondence and gift proposals.
5) Establish, track, and analyze goal progress.
6) Conduct an average of 10-15 visits per month.
7) Partner with the Assistant Director of Annual Giving and Reunion Programs on the Alumni Relations team to develop strategies for enhanced reunion motivated giving.
1) Support a data-driven approach that ensures staff members execute strategies that result in meaningful engagement and successful solicitation of prospects.
2) Assist with the coordination of the Dean’s interaction with current and prospective donors for engagement, solicitation, and stewardship purposes.
3) Work closely with center directors and faculty to deepen prospective donor’s engagement.
4) Partner with Harris colleagues on print and digital communication materials for current and prospective donors.
5) Collaborate with colleagues at Harris and Central ARD to develop and implement meaningful and personal stewardship plans for donors at all gift levels.
6) Establish best practices for internal gift processing, reporting, and data analysis of donor and dollar annual performance.

Education, Experience, and Certifications
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 7+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.
1) Bachelor's degree
1) A minimum of seven years of experience in nonprofit management, development, alumni relations, marketing, public relations, sales or similar professional work experience.
2) Experience working with database management.
3) Proven experience in leading a project.
4) Experience leading a team or developing and coaching staff.
5) Familiarity with fundraising strategies within higher education.
