This position is responsible for leading The Center for Charter Schools (the "Center") performance data team to ensure accurate and timely information, and to provide internal leadership and direction. The Director of Research and Data Analytics (DRDA) is responsible for the strategic direction of the data production and collection processes of the Center. The DRDA ensures that the Center has the ability to effectively collect, warehouse, analyze, validate and communicate the results and conclusions derived from research data analysis. The DRDA also ensures that relevant staff and external contractors collect, comprehend, combine, and analyze data pertaining to the academic, fiscal, and operational performance of schools and their accountability. The DRDA position is responsible for ensuring that the Center stays at the cutting edge of school evaluation and excels in the strategic use of data to inform authorizing decisions. The DRDA builds and maintains relationships with state and national organizations in both the private and the public/academic sectors to read, synthesize, and apply relevant, applicable research to the Center's workflow.
Master's degree in a quantitative discipline, preferably a quantitative social science. Three years of increasingly responsible work experience of a qualifying nature. Documented expertise in conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses. Ability to work with large datasets and statistical software. Experience utilizing a variety of software for statistical analysis. Experience and knowledge of version control and programmatic workflow optimization. Familiarity with current trends in data science and technology. Understanding of research design issues. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience presenting information and engaging audiences in ways that help members apply the knowledge they are receiving. Excellent organizational skills. Demonstrated leadership skills. Ability to communicate complex technical information in a clear and accurate manner. Ability to work across multiple projects, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to provide and accept constructive criticism. Ability to oversee policy and program initiatives of the Center and the university. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to project a positive attitude. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
