James Madison University's Center for Global Engagement (CGE) is seeking an Assistant Director of International Cooperation. This position will report to the Director of International Cooperation. This position will coordinate and manage CGE Global Programs, international projects and international cooperation related events, and serve as a liaison between international partners across multiple programs. Key responsibilities also include addressing and helping to mediate and resolve the needs and expectations of partners, as this position will require communicating clearly and professionally with campus and external contacts, e.g. faculty, staff, students, parents, international partners and visitors, affiliates, and vendors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
International partnership visitors (35%)
Plan, manage, coordinate and evaluate international partner visits
Serve as CGE’s principal liaison between international visitors and JMU offices and departments
Coordinate with the Director of International Cooperation on INU programs and activities
Develop and manage CGE Global Programs for international partners (35%)
Manage CGE Global Programs: Cross Cultural Program, START, Global Visiting Scholars Program, etc.
Develop and oversee customized CGE Global Programs
Create and propose program budgets
Identify partners within the JMU: faculty, departments and colleges
Manage partnership agreements (15%)
Liaise with potential global partners
Prepare and create international agreements/MOUs
Manage and keep record of international partnership agreements/MOUs
Fiscal management (15%)
Manage budgets for CGE Global Programs
Work with International Cooperation Coordinator on financial procedures
Work with Payroll, International Accounting, and ISSS to ensure compliance with JMU policies and procedures for all international cooperation programming.
