The Demetris Lab (Starzl Transplant Inst) at the University of Pittsburgh is hiring a Senior Informatics Database Manager.
This candidate will not only participate in imaging database and quantitative analysis projects using multi-dimensional imagery obtained from histology digitization systems but also take the lead on several projects. This position will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of a Java-based 2 tier client/server application and software development for other lab utilities as needed.
Additional duties will include data cleaning and processing, data analysis and interpretation, general technology support, and software installation.
Required experience/knowledge will include the following: +BS degree in related field plus 3-5 years of experience in analytical systems design, development and algorithm coding. +Experience in systems development, imaging, image data processing, vector graphics or mathematical data modeling using Matlab, R or equivalent. +Mid-level to advanced experience using integrated client/server systems for distributed data processing and communication. +Proficient with one or more higher level languages such as Java, C++, or similar +Experience with RDBMS modeling and/or SQL familiarity a plus. +Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills required +Ability to work independently +Ability to multitask and develop priorities +Must be detail oriented
B.S. degree in related field with experience in analytical systems design.
