IBCM Division The Investment Banking and Capital Markets Division assists clients across regions and industries in achieving their strategic and financing goals. Our Financial Analysts are responsible for the preparation of financial and strategic analyses and presentation of materials supporting corporate finance advice provided to our clients, the majority of whom act in an international context. Your role involves a mix of origination and execution work within the Germany Country Coverage Team across the entire corporate finance product spectrum. Responsibilities may include:
Idea generation: aware of trends and developments within your respective industry sub-sector, you easily combine this with product knowledge to spot opportunities for CS to assist clients.
Production of pitches – while working with senior IBCM teammates, you provide mentorship to Analysts so as to produce well-argued presentations and thorough analyses.
Increased involvement in design and structure of presentations compared to Analyst role.
You guide Analysts on building complex financial models, working with clients to develop inputs and modelling approach and uses output to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
You present analysis and sections of pitches in face-to-face meeting with our clients. You also provide them with recommendations.
A meaningful role in building of client relationships through formal and informal meetings and telephone discussions.
You deal with counterparts on client's side on detailed, day-to-day aspects of a transaction.
You liaise with advisors, lawyers, accountants and other counter parties to produce prospectuses and other legal documentation.
You undertake full valuation analyses and drafting of valuation materials for clients, with limited direct mentorship of senior members of the IBCM team.
You prepare and conduct due diligence on behalf of clients and CS.
You produce documents for CS internal approval processes.
Management of Analysts - you coordinate Analyst work on projects, develops Analysts through delegation of responsibility, priorities for Analysts and well as self.
Educated to degree level in Finance, you developed excellent corporate finance, accounting, financial modelling and valuation skills.
Your fluency in English and German is critical.
You have working experience as an Associate in IBCM or in an equivalent role is helpful.
You demonstrate deep understanding of various investment banking products (M&A, DCM, ECM, LevFin etc.).
You are able to produce excellent written materials and present these in a measured, clear, articulate way.
Given your excellent organisational and project management skills, you always manage to multi-task and plan ahead.
Gifted with strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively coordinate and contribute to a team effort, guiding junior team members, communicate with seniors on all levels and seamlessly work with other CS teams worldwide.
