The University of Pikeville (UPIKE) is actively seeking candidates for its Assistant Coach of Women’s Basketball. UPIKE is an NAIA School that competes in the Mid-South Conference. The central focus for the Assistant Coach is to provide assistance and support to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach and women’s basketball program at the University of Pikeville.
Assist in the recruitment process of student athletes
Participate in coaches’ meetings for practice prep and game planning
Assist with all practices and games for the women’s basketball team
Assist in all community service planning and implementation
Scout opposing teams/players in order to game plan, watching and analyzing game film
Assist with fundraising for the team’s budget and facilities
Assist with budget management, supplies, and equipment through performing office work
Assist with all aspects of basketball operations including but not limited to (travel, purchasing including gear and equipment)
Assist with all camps including marketing, organization, and operations
Assist with all aspects of JV program
Drive university vehicles (when necessary)
Other duties as assigned
Reports to Head Coach
All completed work is referred to supervisor for review
Manage student athletes, team mangers, and volunteers
Bachelor’s Degree required
Athletic background prefered
At least 1-2 years of assistant coaching experience
Must be familiar with conducting research online
Must be familiar Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Must have experience working with office equipment, e.g. computer, printer, fax machine
Must be able to perform simple calculations
Must have a clean driving record
