Purpose of Position - Provide advisory services to LOB's and ensure GFCC policies and standards are incorporated into business practices - Review High Risk Customers - Review and provide feedback on Risk Assessments (during firm-wide reviews and as related to Article XI new and expanded services/products requests
Responsibilities - Implement, develop and ensure adherence to the BSA/AML requirements - Provide AML guidance, advice and risk based solutions to complex regional business issues/initiatives involving the LOB's products range - Provide Line of Business with regular updates on key issues and emerging risks - Conduct regular AML training on Firm's policies and procedures to business staff in line with Regional and Global AML Programs - Follow-up market developments and new AML rules/regulations; work with Business and Control Functions to ensure new rules are appropriately implemented & monitored - Develop and implement projects to quantify impacts & execute actions that address, manage and mitigate impacts of LOB AML risk across Asia Pacific - Produce, review and act on LOB AML related management information as required per firm's MIS reporting framework - Work on evaluation, monitoring and quality assurance of existing procedures that may give rise to develop new procedures, systems and controls to ensure compliance with current AML local requirements and firm's minimum standards - Reporting to and communicating with regional forums, key stakeholders and Regulators and Law Enforcement bodies
AM-Specific Responsibilities :
-Perform assessment of suspicious transactions reported and file Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) where required. - Support the development and implementation of various AML programs and projects to ensure adherence to GFCC requirements. - Provide advice, guidance and risk based solutions to the business on global and local policy interpretation. - Partner with other GFCC functions on global and regional initiatives. - Partner with Line of Business and location Compliance Officers to ensure they understand the AML obligations for the business/location they support. - Review local AML/KYC related procedures and ensure in line with Firm's AML policy. - Review of any new business initiatives through identification and ongoing analysis of risk associated with new products, services, processes, clients and geographies. - Produce, review and act on any AML related management information as part of the firm's global/regional MIS reporting framework. - Partner with GFCC Investigations and location Compliance Officers on the investigation of suspicious activity and resultant reporting obligations. - Assist senior management to enhance and strengthen the AML compliance culture. - Develop, coordinate and implement AML training for the business. - Support the coordination of AML inspections, visits and prudential meetings, internal/external audits & reviews on the local AML Compliance program that affect the business. - Support the maintenance of appropriate reporting channels and mechanisms to ensure that management is kept aware of and appropriately consulted in a timely fashion on significant AML/KYC issues or developments and updated on a periodic basis on the status and effectiveness of in-country AML program. - Support the carrying out of Risk Assessments as required. - Review of Enhanced Due Diligences carried out on High Risk clients. - Participate in relevant AML committees.
Experience - Law / Accounting / Business / Finance Degree - Minimum 7-8yrs of relevant Compliance management experience in Risk or AML related discipline preferably with a global financial institution - Sound knowledge of AML regulations across APAC region, including in-depth practical experience in implementing/advising on Asset Management business Competencies - Meticulous - Strong management and leadership skills, including effective project management abilities - Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with key internal clients across all levels but particularly with senior management - Good communication and organizational skills - Strong analytical ability and logical thinking - Independent decision maker, able to make time-sensitive assessments - Ability to work under pressure Policy Mapping references 1.
